Zombie Apocalypse NOW!, or ZAN, was formed in 2006 by Jay and Travis and though there have been six people aside from them who have been members throughout the years they have been the only constant member. ZAN plays Anti-Zombie Rock, and have been known to play punk rock, blues and metal. ZAN are a bunch of nerds.

Q: Is Zombie Apocalypse NOW! currently booking shows?
A: “Yes” and “No”. Technically ZAN is on hiatus as of this writing, though we do play occasional shows here and there. We have accepted every request to play a gig this past Spring/Summer we have received but we have done very little booking of our own. However starting this Fall it is likely we will start booking regularly. Stay tuned.
Q: Are you looking for new members?
A: At this exact moment I guess we’re not. However once we find some stability this Fall it’s likely we’ll be trying to recruit, at the very least, a rhythm guitarist. So I suppose if you play guitar, live in the Chicago area, and like what you’ve seen/heard from us I suppose you might want to give us a shout.
Q: Where are you located?
A: ZAN’s home base is Kalamazoo,MI, at least as of this writing. By September 2/3rd of the band will be in Chicago and we’ll be based out of there for a while. The current hope is that we can manage to play regular shows in the Chicago area and the West Michigan area before too long.
Q: What is “Anti-Zombie Rock”?
A: Anti-Zombie Rock is mostly the idea that music can still be just as good and just as valid as anything else even if it covers a topic that’s less than typical. I’ve written songs about a talking scarecrow, giant robots, and the fucking Green Ranger and I argue that that doesn’t make ZAN a comedy act. It’s not like we’re the first ones to do this or anything (See: Blue Öyster Cult, Black Sabbath) but I feel like every song these days in rock music pretty much say the same thing. If you want to write a badass rock song about the TV show Star Trek or a ballad about your favorite brand of shoes that might be Anti-Zombie Rock.
